Hi everyone, this will be a post covering all of my current car projects. Not sure how long this post will be valid for but it is just a general outline of where I am at and where I am headed.
Chevy Spark
This is the first car that I have ever bought new. It's a 2016 Chevy Spark and honestly it's a pretty cool little car. The reason I bought it is because I actually work for a GM dealership as a technician and it was a pretty good deal. I got it on sale for just under 11k including tax and title. That's pretty good in my opinion for a brand new car! Anyways, there are a few things that i want to do that will make it even more awesome and here's that list.
1. Tint tail lights/ markers
2. Blackout emblems
3. stripe kit
4. Factory rims (blackout)
5. 2.0t engine swap (pipe dream)
Next i will provide a picture of what the car looks like now and hopefully afterwards
I Don't have a set of rims picked out specifically but something like these.
And then we can't forget the engine....... better to just drop in something with a warranty and a bit more power.... like this! This is the chevy ltg 2.0t and the NEW manual fwd transmission that they just came out with! 272 hp would be awesome in a spark that weighs 2246 lbs. since the cars that engine usually comes in are roughly 3300lbs and 5.7 second 0-60 time taking 1100 lbs off of it should do some interesting things! This is just a pipe dream and will likely never happen however.... it would be awesome!!
The ltg engine itself is 23.5-27.5-27.5 l-w-h. I am currently awaiting a reply with the transmission dimensions. but if it will fit then all that is left to figure out is the wiring, and axles. the wiring should be easy as all i should have to do is send hsgmlan to the ecm supplied with the motor (theoretically)
94 mazda mx6
This car I got from a buddy of mine. He bought it for the engine that was in it for a project of his. i had the brilliant idea of trying to put a different motor and transmission in it. I have it all figured out i just haven't had the time to do it. I am going to put a 1.6 turbo engine out of another car i own into it. The only thing that i will have to do is put the differential carrier out of the v6 transmission into the 4 cylinder transmission. The carriers are the same size and bolt patterns however they are different axle spline counts which is problematic if you don't want to have to buy custom axles. I have a complete car to work with so fortunately aside from some small suspension work this should all go together without much issue. Here is a picture of the car when i got it and after i put wheels and tires on it.
Thanks everyone for reading! Hope you found it interesting
